At 0718 I found what would prove to be Sadie (RB12) fronting 1BS on Rabbit Island. She would move down to cool off, and remained all day. Her due date is 4-30-16, but only Sadie Knows . Her usual practice has been to show up at RI, check the place out and then depart to pig out until just before show time. so nice of her to show up for her birthday too.Also 0718 I found Nani (RK60) in the Morning Glory right of the 3BS. She would be joined by Kolohe (RW22) at 1239.
At 0628 Team Billand reported Benny (RE74) at Maili Point. He was gone on their 1046 recheck.
At 0814 they reported Kekoa (RK72) at Maili Guard Rails.
Had a grrrreat call from Colleen Heyer at 1224. Her daughter was out at Ka’ena Point, doing Albatross work. She called her mom to advise that there were 3 seals out there. She said one had a light spot on the right side (Ka’ena ?), one was small and one was really furry !!! A photo was sent, but the ID was inconclusive. Personally, I think the shot is of the furry one.Email from Carola Johnston, at 1458 provided shots of her find of Right Spot (R016) at 3 Tables on the North Shore. She also spoke of a nice couple who helped and remained to look after the seal.
Lesley checked in at 1624 to advised that she had responded to a Hotline call about an animal near Mokuleia Beach Park. She confirmed the BG (R303) ID.
