On my first look at Rabbit Island at 0700 I found Nani (RK60), Kea (RN46) & Aukai (RL11) all together in the Morning Glory below 3BS, and Kainoa (RN04) behind Seal Rock Inlet. Nani, followed by Kea were entering the water just as I departed the pier.When I got back at 0845, Aukai was snoozin’ amongst the rocks at 3BS. She would later go for a swim and haul out again at Rocky Right Beach. Kainoa had moved down into SRI, an was barely visible. He would later move back up into view and remained the rest of the day. I did not see Kea again today.
At 1153 Gayle called with the report of Kaiwi (RK96) , once again at China Walls.
At 0754 Team Billand reported Kimo Kai (RT12) at Waikomo’s.
At 0810 a posse member called to report an animal fronting Pipeline, on the North Shore. I notified Dana immediately. Someone responded and signs were put up.
Tracy would check in on her way back from tagging Holokai to advise that the animal was gone, but the signs remained. I contacted Dana.
Tracy checked in at 0810 to advise that Holokai had just been given his bling. He is now officially, RG40.Per Tracy, Ola, the animal determined to be the shark bite critter was not seen while she was there.
At 0833 Team Billand reported a 100% molted RL42 at Makau Cliffs.
At 1041 the Billands found Pohaku (RO28) & Benny (RE74) together at the Lighthouse, Campbell Industrial Park.
Val Bloy sent some excellent shots of Rocky’s pup, PK4 and a very nice ventral bleach.
