7/3/2015 DB's Dailies: Duke,Aukai,Kea&Cass@RI, R330,W02,Kaiwi,RIP&U'ilani@KP, Luana@Mokuleia

On my lst Rabbit Island look I found what would prove to be Duke (RA12) & Aukai (RL12) together in the Morning Glory, 40 ft left of 1BS. They were snoozin’ at the water line when I got back to Makai Pier at 0800. They would enter the water with Aukai in the lead at 1103. That was the last I saw of Aukai, but Duke would pop up again later.

At 1252 what would prove to be Duke showed up as a “swimming head” , cruising the beach front from Seal Rock Inlet to the left end rock flats and then back again, checking spots along the way. At 1326 on a routine pan I found first Duke and then Kea (RN46) right behind, just hauling out at Seal Rock Inlet. They would remain there the rest of the day.

I’d been stressin’ all day, not having seen the weaner, Cass all day. At 1314 on a routine pan I spied a likely lookin’ rock, partially visible at Rocky Right Beach, RI. At 1340 the rock moved !!! It was Cass (RG06) ! Day before yesterday she had discovered RRB on a swim play session. Then yesterday I found her there, and again today. I’m sure she is trying to find some peace and quiet since Duke is back on the scene, with Kea trailing behind on his “chick hunt” , most of which has been at Cass’s main hangout at the left end flats.

On a pan at 1314 I spied a likely looking rock at Rocky Right Beach. At 1340 the rock moved, and I knew that I had found Cass (RG06). This marks her 3rd day at Rocky Right Beach, which is the opposite end of the island from her normal hangouts.

The highlight of the day for me came at 0809 when Marilyn called , advising that Ken Tingman had contacted her with his End of the World report. He found Squinty (R330), RW02, RIP (RR70), and Kaiwi (RK96) at Kaena Point. Kaiwi had been reported at KP on 6-20-15, but then nothing since then. Obviously, she is still at the End of the World. Thank You Ken !!! Ya’ Done Good !!!

The KP story got even better with the arrival of email from Tammy T., who had seen Kaiwi, RW02, and U’ilani whom Ken had not seen earlier.

At 1145 Team Billand checked in with the report of Nihoa (R912) at Lagoon#2, KoOlina. They advised of her departure at 1613.

LesleyMail brought news of Luana (RN58) fronting the Lyman Estate, Mokuleia.

An evening text from Diane G., advised that despite a concert and tons of people today, Ua Malie&PO3 were handling well.
