1/16/2015 DB's Dailies: Aukai&Kainoa@RI, Kea&Duke@BH, Benny&Haupu@WP

At 0700 I found Kea (RN46) snoozin’ in the cove on the Sandy Beach side of the Blowhole Lookout.  Gayle called at 1140 to advise that there was another animal with Kea there. I was already on my way, and upon arrival at 1146 found Kea and a “player to be named later “, swimming and playing in the channel outside of the cove. Both Gayle and I were shooting feverishly , trying to get an ID on the unknown. Gayle would come through with flying colors. I told her I was putting her in for Sainthood, because it truly was a miracle that she managed to get the RA12 tag shot, confirming the Duke (RA12) ID. St. Gayle of Kalama Valley........... Ya’ Done Good !!!
Duke has been on Molokai of late, but today clears up my U/M problem of 1-14-15 on Rabbit Island. Duke has a tiny natural bleach on his left side, mid body. I saw that today, and also saw it on the 14th, but couldn’t remember who it was with that marker. It was Duke. Welcome Home ! They played and foraged together for a while, but by 1237 only Duke remained, doing 6 minute dives. Duke was still foraging at dark.

On my first look at Rabbit Island at 0734 I found what would prove to be Aukai (RL12) at the log, 40 ft left of 1BS, and at 0958 found Kainoa (RN04) 50 ft right of 1BS. They would comprise the RI cast for today.

Of course, all of this pales in comparison to the top news story of the day. THE Benny (RE74) was successfully release today at 0930, at White Plains. The cage door opened and he “beelined” it for the water,... looked back and headed west ! Welcome back kid....... we missed ya’. Look out girlz, THE Benny is back !!

That was the highlight of Team Billand’s day , but ate 1124 they also reported Haupu (RB24) arriving to Tower#1, White Plains. The also reported a “swimming head” off of Germaine’s Luau grounds, but the critter kept on goin
