1/13/2015 DB's Dailies: Kainoa&Buster@RI, Kea@BH, Pohaku@Maili, RIP@WP

On my 1st look at Rabbit Island at 0736 I found what would prove to be Kainoa (RN04) at the log, in the Morning Glory, 40 ft left of 1BS.

At 1021 I became aware of Buster (RV08) once again hiding behind the Morning Glory at the cliff, 40 ft left of 1BS, on RI. He was again only partially visible, so no molt percentage was possible.

At 0914, on my 4th check, I found Kea (RN46) in the cove on the Sandy Beach side of the Blowhole Lookout. He has remained the rest of the day. Gayle advised that he departed at 1748.

Team Billand called at 1031 to advise that Dana had called them about Pohaku (RO28)at Maili.

At 1223 the Billands reported RIP (RR70), alone for a change, at White Plains.

Email from Tracy, along with a follow on phone call brought Benny (RE74) news. She advises that “Benny is eating like a champ”, and his exam went well. He was outfitted with a cell tag and his gotten new “bling”. He now has an RE40 tag & his old nub, in his LHF, and 2 tags ,RE76/77 in his RHF.

In the Yesterday’s News department, Kimo Smith sent shots of Ka’ena (RO40), RL42 & her little sister Luana (RN58) all together at Hidden Beach yesterday. They would depart, probably due the crowd, but Luana would later return alone. Thank you Kimo !!

 Kea
Benny all dressed and no where to go.... Looks like Benny is getting ready for a departure soon.... ANOTHER wonderful success story.... Thank you to Team @ NOAA... thank you to everyone out on the beaches kicking up the sand!!!
