7-6-2014 DB's Dailies: Buster@BH&SB, Kainoa,Sadie&Aukai@RI, Kekoa&U'ilani@RR

At 0630 I found an U/U doing 12 minute dives at the Blowhole Lookout. Though a ID was not possible, 1435 haul out attempts by Buster (RV08) at the east end of Sandy Beach, pretty much confirms the ID for me. I say attempts because that is all they were. When my Sandy Beach posse member called at 1435 to advise that Buster was trying to haul out..... TWICE, we were on the way. When we arrived at 1440 it was too late already. The Adoring Hordes just would not allow the poor guy to haul out. He was heading west so we relocated to the Blowhole Lookout, and glimpsed him there, continuing his swim westward. We relocated to Lanai Lookout and glimpsed him there twice, but he never hauled out , and we lost him at 1530.
At 0815 I found Kainoa (RN04) all alone at the left end of Rabbit Island. He had the place all to himself, until 1145 when Sadie (RB12) hauled out to the left end rock flats. Shortly thereafter, at 1150, Aukai (RL12) hauled out to the left end. Her arrival was interesting because DOCARE posse member Ken had called at 1019 to advise that she was no longer on Moku Nui, but a witness had told him that she had been there at 0730 this morning.

Lastly, in Rabbit Island news, today was departure day for the Sootys & Noddys (birds). There are just a handful left, and they will probably be gone in the morning.

At 1046 Team Billand checked in to advise that Eileen had called with the report of Kekoa (RK72) and little sister U’ilani together at the birth beach, at the Reef Runway.

Kauai posse member Gary Langley sent shots of Rocky (RH58) & Pup (RK4) on Kauai for the Yesterday’s News department. Thank You........ very much !

It seems like only yesterday that I was pulling a shift with R5AY and her daughter, Penelope at Turtle Bay, when the call came about an Mom & Pup at Ka’ena Point. I humped a load of rebar (no plastic coated aluminum in the good ol’ days), and rope out to the end of the world, and there found Irma and my 4th born son, Ka’ena (RO40). Happy 8th to my boy, Ka’ena !!!  holy moly!  time flies!
